Term 4

This last term is already going so quickly with all the exciting events organised for Primary 7. VISIT TO HOME ECONOMICS AT RENFREW HIGH The pupils enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at Renfrew High School, developing their skills in Food Technology. The pupils learned how to prepare vegetables and cook a delicious Spaghetti Bolognese. Some of our pupils enjoyed it so much, they have been treating their families to a tasty meal at home! Well done.
TRIP TO ST MIRREN We enjoyed a trip to St Mirren as part of our World of Work in order to experience a real-life working environment. We had a tour of the stadium, trophy room and all of the grounds. The coaches organised a training session in the Dome and we further developed our Football skills.
PROBLEM SOLVING WITH RHS We were fortunate to have a visit from the Maths Department from Renfrew High School. We worked in groups to solve a range of problem solving tasks. We had to communicate effectively and draw upon our strategies to solve the tricky problems. We all had fun!
SPONSORED EVENT The Kickstart team organised a whole school sponsored event to encourage the whole school to keep active and raise funds for the school. Our energetic instructors have now delivered 14 classes across two days involving every class in the school. They instructors led a warm up and explained and demonstrated the circuit stations for each class. We altered each class to suit the age range of the pupils. We were delighted to see so many parents come along to exercise with their children and support our event. Many thanks to all the pupils and parents for taking part and to everyone who brought sponsor money in.
SCIENCE As part of our science and outdoor learning, we have been learning about planting and the benefits of fertilisers. With Mrs Gray, we carried out an investigation comparing the use of soil, compost and fertilisers. Our plants are coming along well and we will review the outcome soon.
Primary 7 have enjoyed a very busy year with many happy memories to look back at. The Leavers' Dance and Leavers' Assembly will be held in the last week and we look forward to these exciting events.
