END OF TERM 1

We cannot believe that Term 1 of Primary 7 is over already. We have had a great time so far and are looking forward to next term.

Our topic on Slavery has been excellent. We have all found it very interesting and shocking at times too. We have written slave diaries imagining how the slaves felt as they were captured and forced into slavery. We had to describe the horrendous conditions the slaves suffered on the slave ships. We have also made annotated maps of the Congo, slave ship research posters and we will finish off our topic making biographies. We learned how to make bar graphs in Numeracy Across the curriculum about slave ship voyages. Here are some examples of excellent work.

In PE this term we have developed our skills in Short Tennis. We have learned about the scoring system, developed our skills in serving and worked on keeping control of the ball. We were able to apply our skills to a proper game situation when we visited Robertson Park to play on the tennis courts. We were very fortunate to have a lovely warm day and we had a fantastic time playing on the courts. Here are some pictures of The future "Nadals and Murrays" playing.

We enjoyed the last day of school with two exciting things. The Anti-bullying group reps led a fun circle time on the theme of bullying. We enjoyed the games and discussed our views on what bullying is and how we can get support if we need it.

And we enjoyed our End of Term reward with our cinema afternoon. A great way to end the term!
